2. Data model and CRM business logic

Abbreviation CRM (Customer Relationship Management) has long ceased to mean simply an “electronic notebook”. In modern architecture, this is a complex set of software modules, databases and message brokers that provide seamless management of customer experience (CX - Customer Experience).

The basis for the successful deployment of any complex CRM system is the correctly chosen development methodology. From the classic waterfall approach to flexible frameworks (Agile), process architecture determines the pace, budget control and ultimate scalability of the project.

  • Speed: Microservices communicate with each other through message brokers (RabbitMQ / Apache Kafka) or the ultra-fast gRPC protocol.
  • Release independence: A new version of one balancer does not affect other modules.

8.3. Service-Oriented Architecture (SOA)

SOA defines CRM as a collection of interconnected but larger services (compared to microservices) with clearly defined interfaces (WSDL/REST). 9. Database design and backend CRM

A modern backend stack for highly loaded CRM determines the speed of generating sales reports and the fault tolerance of the system as a whole.

9.1. Choosing a programming language and framework

  • Node.js (NestJS / Express) or Go (Golang) - choose if you need support for thousands of simultaneous WebSocket connections (Real-time chats, live notifications to managers).

9.2. Design Patterns and Security

Design Patterns are architectural recipes. In CRM, “Repository” is especially useful for abstracting work with data in the database and “Observer” for reactive email notifications to managers about missed calls.

OAuth2 / JWT authorization with detailed RBAC (Role-Based Access Control) even to the point of hiding a specific margin tab inside the lead card from an ordinary manager. Modern technologies offer ready-made solutions for protection against SQL injections and XSS.

10. Design of the CRM interface and frontend stack

No more page reloads (F5) when saving a new contact or field in a lead. The CRM frontend is developed as an isolated interactive SPA (Single Page Application).

An isolated CRM is a dead CRM. To automate corporate accounting, seamless integration of CRM with 1C:Enterprise, MySklad or heavy ERP is vital. This allows you to exchange orders, product range, invoice statuses and receivables in real time.

Synchronization is implemented through a two-way connector (REST/SOAP API), webhooks, or through the Enterprise Service Bus, if we are talking about the Enterprise segment. This eliminates duplication of leads and manual entry errors when issuing acts.
